Oh hi! you caught me in the middle of a small short in my zone (this is not financial advice!)
Not that I’m hopeful, it’s purely mechanical. it’s at yesterday’s Value Area High, and given the larger trend, the thing to do. I’m ready to turn if they decide they want to keep above PDVAH, especially on a Frisky Friday 🙂 They do seem a little frisky this morning, in a creeping way…trying to show some strength to end the weekend, especially after yesterday’s afternoon turn around and away from being close to that 2024 POC, below.
That said, every day this week, we’ve threatened that level but never quite made it there. Which means two things (always of course):
They are prepping to take it out (potentially with vigor)
They’re just not interested for now, and want to go ahead and trade higher
What we do know know, is that they’ve been trading in a balance since monday, with a slight bias towards the downside yesterday, but overall, nothing has changed, we are ranging/consolidating, and no big moves are being made either way. If they decide to head upwards, they still need to clear the consolidation area, and go for the 3 sigma low of last week in order to even pretend to want to be a bullish territory.
Not much else to report here, if they make it to the top of the range, it’s a respectable distance if you were long in futures, so kudos, but unless they power through (say during the open), expect some rough waters above the top of that range, as she tries to find some footing to push ahead to the bottom of the range she lost last week.
Overall, she’s still in down territory, 2024 POC, and Value Area Low, still lurk below (and then some).
On the news front, we have 10:00a.m. consumer sentiment, and on the News That they could Use to Excuse the Pump — we avoided a government shutdown.
